You Can Spark A Movement

“If you can spark a conversation, you can spark a movement.”

Someone said that to me in a recently and it really struck a chord. It forced me to ask myself two important questions:

  1. What conversation do I want to have with the masses?
  2. What movement do I want it to lead to?

You see, this blog has mainly focused on my journey towards healing and forgiveness after the loss of my first baby. I’ve gone through a lot of the motions, and even though there’s still more ground to be covered, I have SOOO much more to talk about with y’all.

I’ve really been doing some soul-searching to find the answers to these questions and here’s what I’ve come up with so far..

The conversation I want to have doesn’t really stick to one subject but I’ve narrowed it down to 3 categories; the path to peace & happiness, self-love & self-care, and ultimately healing. Personally, 2019 was HARD but it was necessary. I had to go through to grow through.

The movement I want my conversations to lead to is a simple one; Self-discovery. So many of us are walking around in a fog or just feeling incomplete because we KNOW there is more to life than just going through the motions. We have to discover our true selves…our true purpose. I know my purpose is to help others. I’ve always been the friend to listen to others problems and give advice. I’ve always cared about others and their happiness. I truly believe I am here to help other people grow and help to know that they are not alone in their struggles.

Coming to this realization was not an easy task. There were so many sleepless nights. (Which I now know was just God trying to get me to open up my heart more and listen to Him.) There were tears…SOOOO many tears. I isolated myself from friends and family because I couldn’t heal with everyone I loved trying to tell me how to. (Heal in YOUR time, in your own healthy way). There was a lot of anger and most of it was misplaced onto my boyfriend. (I still feel guilty for shutting him out & becoming a person that neither of us knew.) I was growing on the inside..and on the outside. (This double chin is NOT cute y’all.)

So many factors contributed to my personal growth the past year. I am better now and I’m here to tell you that you will be better too!! Once you’re better, ask yourself, “What do I want my conversation to be and what movement do I want it to lead to?”

Until next time; Be YOU. Do YOU. LOVE YOU💜
